Join us for the third annual Defense of Democracy Film Festival, sponsored by Duxbury for All, where we’ll be airing three short documentary films:

Expanding Sanctuary: Features the rare and inspiring story of a Latina immigrant and her historic campaign against ICE, changing legislation and protecting families. 

Death by a Thousand Cuts: Follows two PhD students, and their struggle to navigate the aftermath of the federal government cutting funds for scientific research. 

Second Responders: A topic often overlooked in conversations about tragedy and recovery, this award-winning film centers on the aftermath of the 2023 Lewiston, Maine mass shooting and explores the emotional effect it had on educators suddenly becoming anchors for grieving students.
